I have many friends who regularly smoke/eat edibles and swear by its benefits for sleep, stress and feel it's better for them  in comparison to alcohol

As a CDL I cannot partake (nor have I in the past except for a few nights where I was drinking hard!), but they have made a strong case for its "benefits" in moderation of course.

While legal, I bet it's still too taboo for people to openly discuss their enjoyment

I won’t but it has helped my dad medically. He has a bunch of medical issues and with him just smoking weed has gotten off 10 medications and many of those were narcotic and the rest he had to take because of the narcotics. It’s helped with his Parkinson’s and is slowing his dementia.

I would never of thought it would make that much of a difference but it has. I would rather him smoke or eat an edible than take the narcotics he was on. At least if he runs out of weed he doesn’t withdrawal like he used to with the shit the doctors gave him and it’s way better for the body than booze is.

Interesting. My mom is dealing with early sign of Parkinson's. I will be looking into this a bit more

Yep never thought it would work and it definitely helps. Doesn’t make it go away completely but his head twitch’s become next to nothing and he doesn’t need to use his specialty spoons anymore.

It’s interesting to see such negative reactions to it. I don’t smoke haven’t in years. That being said when it becomes legal to grow I may do it. You should all read about juicing the cannabis plant it does not get you high at all drinking the juice and there are tons of medical benefits. I would like to try this once it’s legal to grow.

The only thing I would like to add is for years now they have been telling us and rightly so that cigarettes  are bad for your health. Now they legalize weed ? The tar from smoking a joint can't be good for our lungs. I have no problem with folks that smoke it. It's up to them. Just has made me wonder . Most importantly and again I have no problem with people who indulge .:campfire:

I wouldn't care about this except for:

Let's make pot legal and make legal gun owners criminals.

I'd rather get my full second amendment rights back than be able to smoke a joint legally.

Isn't it still on the background check when purchasing a firearm your asked if you use ?  If you are using and buying a firearm last I knew or thought federally this wasn't allowed?    So either a person is lying on the form or is purchasing illegally (federal)?

So many people are also confused for driving ..just because it's legal you can't be under the influence. Just like alcohol.

I can say I've never used it and have zero interest, but can see where it would be medically reasonable to be used.  Cancer patients etc.  For recreational use I generally don't have any close friends that use it either.  Not a lifestyle I wish to have any part of.
