Erich Hartman- the all time leader with 352 Kills on the Russian Front was a slow study to start and racked up very few kills.

  Russians sent wave after wave of Planes on the Attack for years. That is why there were well over 100 German Pilots with over 100 Kills each .

Hartman surrendered  to the Americans with his unit and was turned over to the Russians at Wars end. He spent 10 years to 1955 in  Russian Prison and given just enough Food to Survive.

    Hartman Survived and was reluctantly  released by the Russians  after 10 Brutal Years. One of the last Solders to be released.
