hueyjazz
While the general idea is very good this is another political feel-good as far as implementation goes. Applicants are eligible for one bag of 25 seedlings and recipients are chosen on a first-come, first-served basis. A total of 350 bags will be available statewide for this round of applications. That's 350 bags of 25 seedlings for entire State. Maybe if they added another zero to that 350 it would make a difference. The best program the State offers is the Saratoga nursery. Spring Seedling Sale - NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation But I can tell you from experience the better seedlings sell out quickly in the first day and they only have one guy answering the phone.
