I agree but did find it interesting if Canada is starting to have a population as ive always heard they won't winter well.  Prob never see a bunch around here.

I hope not.  I know in areas that have them, they do a incredible amount of crop damage.

Wasn't there a high fence operation in central/WNY 20 some+ yrs ago where a large number of hogs escaped?

Think where European boars live: Russia, much of Europe and other areas with very harsh winters and they have survived there for thousands of years. No reason they won’t do fine in parts of Canada.

Maybe 13-14 years ago, I was at a watershed organization’s annual dinner and Rutgers professor emeritus, Dr. Roger Locandro gave the evening’s presentation. I will never forget how he started his speech. He said: “There are only two types of states in the US. Those with a feral pig problem and those that will soon have a feral pig problem.”

Turns out he was correct as they continue to spread regionally. We had some issues in south Jersey and it now seems in control, but pigs breed at an unbelievable rate, do most of their damage at night, and can really wreak havoc when they show up.

They can have litters in the winter
