I couldn't imagine being the outfitter and watching this happen.

erratic path and not how you'd disc a field. he can't claim he was just discing. plus he never stopped after he would've known they were decoys. that farmer is screwed. if he agrues he thought they were real then he's opening himself up for other charges like aggravated cruelty to animals/wildlife. if he admits he knew they were fake then there might be enough value there to make it a felony charge on top of restitution.

Farmer wasn't there to disc.. he admitted that.  He claims they were there illegally.

If he can prove that, he won't get a fine at all.

And that's why the sheriff just sat and watched.  Civil matter.  The judge is going to have a headache after this one is over. Lol.

There's a background here that i read about on IG. Supposedly these hunters haven't been paying their lease and been causing issues for years making ruts and being disrespectful. Sounds like the farmer gave them permission, asked for some coin and some respect and wasn't getting it and had enough. If that's true then yeah it might be a little extreme but could have easily been avoided if they'd been decent sportsmen.

Not sure how this one's gonna play out. They should keep tabs on who the next leasee will be, the sheriff who was just hanging out with a doughnut would be my guess.

Sounds like the outfitter is making money from clients on the land. And not paying anything to the elderly land owner. Wrong!

Sounds like the farmer took it upon himself to get to the outfitter, by ruining an expensive decoy set. He had no other reason to be out there that morning.  Wrong!

Instead of hashing this out like grown men, they just keep ratcheting up the drama. What's next?

Everybody thinks they're right these days. And no one wins, except the lawyers.
