Being Detained At Big Box " After" Paying..

It is an annoying practice. Mostly because it seems to lack a standard process that is transparent. Sometimes I walk out of there after paying thinking for sure they’ll ask for the receipt and other times when it’s obvious (IE being in view of the mall cop) and I still get asked.

It is annoying.  As a general rule I rarely shop at a big box store. On the occasion I do and they ask for my receipt I  show and keep on trucking. I tell them they can check it when they help unload it in my trunk.
