Dinorocks
Making some bows! I have been working on two from some Osage staves and blanks I had. Rasp stage on one, scraper on the other…when I get tired of scraping I rasp. Rusty, grampy, nywaw and 2 others

mowin
I really want to get into long bows. just don't think my shoulder would agree. I'd be happy to just target shoot, but shooting a deer would be fantastic. Bucksnbows
Dinorocks
A well built selfbow (long bow) has incredibly smooth draw, no hand shock, and doesn’t stack up. Regarding poundage, I can shoot a heavy bow but target my weight when I build a hunting bow for myself is 45# …so much fun shooting a “lighter” weight bow! A bunch of years ago I harvested two deer with a bow I made for my wife…one arrow was a pass through and the other almost did but hit a rib before it exited…bow was just at legal limit of 35#. Zwickey broadheads. My go-to laminate long bow is a 45# Bear Montana…again, super smooth draw!! OldBrian, 2012-Taco and Rusty

Then went to a compound. I would love to get back into instinctive shooting. Dinorocks

Very busy around the homestead!! You're busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest!! When you come up for air, let us know how the syrup is coming. Dinorocks
Ha! Funny Larry! Finished boil number 4 last night! 18 hours boiling followed by 5 hours for the finish boil and bottling. …about 25 gallons of syrup for the season! Had a big pancake breakfast and syrup making demo at my archery club a couple weeks ago…about a 100 people! Not much syrup left! I did put a few jars up for sale at our annual Alaskan Archery Shoot this weekend. Done with sugaring for the season…after cleanup I can finish my bow…getting closer! Think we're just over 40g. Did you make any light amber this year? We only had med and dark amber this yr. I think the mild winter with warmer temps had something to do with it. Dinorocks
Thanks! I tapped 50 trees with metal buckets. We had a video invite for our members/family/friends pancake breakfast/demo at our club I was going to share that showed the setup but I think it was taken down. First two boils yielded amber and the last two were much darker…first batch was the lightest and the last was the darkest. Cool how the color changes so much throughout the season!
