Spysar Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 I'm getting my deep sea fishing season started. King cod is going out right now, but I'm guessing from reports that guys are geting 2 or 3 cod per trip. HH getting a limit of 5 maybe. Not enough for me to go to Long Island. My first trip booked is on Eastmans in NH. Home - Eastman's Docks (eastmansdocks.com) I'm starting on the 27th of March for Acadian Redfish. (haddock and cod not open until April) My second trip is aboard the Bunny Clark , my favorite boat of all time, in Perkins Cove, ME. I highly recommend this boat. Bunny Clark Deep Sea Fishing . I have an April 9th trip booked. Mainly for haddock, cod is open also at this time. Haddock limit is 20 pp, and cod is only 1 pp. Could catch redfish, cusk, maybe pollack also. Next is squid. April 30th. This one is on the Bounty Hunter. Welcome to Bounty Hunter Deep Sea Fishing - Bounty Hunter Charters (fishbountyhunter.com). This is a short maybe 10 day season, before predators move in and scatter them. Out of Bass River in Mass. And another squid trip May 7th. This is on the Emma Jack. Home - Fishing Charter Cape Cod MA | Located on Bass River (emmajackcharters.com) Hoping to get a bunch to eat, and they make awesome bait for the rest of the year. Out of Bass River in Mass. 5th trip I have booked is for fluke. This one is June 17th, also on the Emma Jack. Emma Jack is just an awesome 6 pack boat. We're heading the the famous Nantucket Shoals for jumbo fluke. This is where you go if you want to catch a fluke over 10 pounds, a true doormat. FYI, a fluke isn't a doormat until it's 10lbs, no matter what jersey guys say, LOL 6th trip is a 2 day back to back days of fluke fishing aboard the Helen H, out of Hyannis MA. We will leave hyannis, fish all day, dock up in nantucket for the night, get dinner and sleep on the boat. Then wake up and fish again. Awesome boat, awesome trip. Home (helen-h.com) 7th trip is up to Oswego for salmon on the lake. Going with my friends who own the TK Charters. We fish labor day weekend. 8th trip is also on the Emma Jack. Heading to Georges Channel for cod and haddock. Hopefully get a limit and then move onto the shoals for a limit of Fluke. Not many trips you can do that kind of fishing. This one is going to be in early Sept. We were going in August but we got word NOAA will be closing cod for that month... Last will be tuna. Haven't booked that one yet..... It will be on Helen H when I do I can't wait. If anyone wants to go, there is still room on some of these trips. I live east of Albany and can get to all these boats in 3 hours. 2BuckBizCT, Robhuntandfish, nywaw and 8 others 11

Pygmy Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 I/ve fished on the Bunny Clark a couple times over the years.... Done a few deepwater trips and have never seen on of those redfish thingies.... Spysar 1
nywaw Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 Great first trip! Nice cooler full! Wolffish are mean! Caught one years ago in MA on a cod trip, mate took it off and said "watch this" as the wolffish bite down on the metal railing and wouldn't let go haha Spysar 1
Spysar Posted March 28, 2023 Author Posted March 28, 2023 Next trip is on The Bunny Clank, in Maine, April 9th. Still room if anyone wants to go. You can potentially keep 20 haddock, and one cod this day. And cusk, pollack and redfish too. nywaw 1
JohnPlav Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 Nice catch! I've been out a bunch on Bunny Clark, and a few of the Gloucester boats. I wasn't sure if I ever caught redfish, but apparently we did get into them once. Good luck with the Haddock. A freezer full of haddock fillets is hard to beat! nywaw, dmandoes, Spysar and 2 others 5
Spysar Posted April 15, 2023 Author Posted April 15, 2023 I did the Bunny Clark trip on Easter sunday. I really didn't take too many pics, because I was catching too many fish. It was a fish a cast all day for me . Sometimes 2 fish a cast. Mostly all pollack. I also caught my limit of cod which is one, lol. Got a couple haddock and a redfish. My buddy hooked a porbeagle shark and we all stopped fishing so he could fight the fish. He was using 30lb line and a light rod. Took half an hour to bring it to the boat. The mate and me both gaffed it. The mates gaff broke in 2 seconds and it was all me hanging on while the shark thrashed me until someone tail roped it. 203 lbs. I'm the one in orange oil skins. And a bucket of pollack fillets. FISHING REPORTS (bunnyclark.com) nywaw, dmandoes, crappyice and 8 others 11
