The good lord visits you in your sleep and says he values your opinion. He has decided that there can only be 1 freshwater fish left and all others will be eliminated, what fish do you answer with? Be specific, not just trout but you must pick brook, rainbow etc.

It's a hypothetical just for fun. Lets not worry about the ecological impacts lol.

I would have to say Atlantic salmon.  Their jumps are incredible.  The very first one I hooked on a 7 weight in Labrador leapt out of the river 4 times before I could even come tight after the take.  But day to day, the non native wild brown trout that eats my dry fly is probably what I do most of.  And that's from the Vice Chair - North for the Native Fish Coalition.

Rainbow Trout if it has to live in NY/CT. But those triploid ones or whatever they called so they can get to 20-30lbs.

But if I can adapt a fish, then maybe peacock bass.

a 7-15" baitfish for the rest of your life?

Must be you haven’t enjoyed the wonderful world of ice fishing. Not to mention the best tasting fish in North America.

for the rest of your life you want to sit in the cold on ice? lol. Salmon, Flounder, Sole, Mahi, Chilean Sea Bass, Rainbow Trout, Branzino, etc. are all light years ahead of yellow perch in flavor. Or do you mean fried? in which case i have no idea. I wouldn't fry a healthy fish
