G-man
Wild leeks are starting to pop. They are hot now. But make a good dip. In a few weeks the leaves will be used in place of lettuce on my sandwiches.. then the large bulbs harvested and pickled... yum!! Skillet
G-man, have you ever tried trout lilies? They are found in the same type of area. It's a low, broad leaf plant, like a leek, but it has spotted leaves. I like them even more than leeks. Native Americans used them for all kinds of medicine. They have a nice mild flavor. Ive seen them. Have not tried. Im more into mushrooms in spring. Oysters are plentiful and grill up well with the leeks on top of a nice steak.
