Wow!! What a monarch of the woods. Too bad it wasn't a hunter that caused his dimise. But no doubt he avoided being killed by a hunter for a number of hunting seasons. Perhaps he was shot,  wounded, and not recovered? We don't know? But he certainly was a ghost, that was never tagged. I have huge respect for that.

It was found within a short distance of a road. Like supposedly less than 50 yards.
