I need to get out and practice with my longbow. It’s really a lot of fun. Good shot, what distance was that from?

I actually ordered another one off of Amazon like 1 of those folding survival boss just because it  looked cool should be fun to shoot.

Mine is a $10 eBay purchase, marked “Fluted Long Bow”. Probably a homemade used bow. Had a string made for it, and it weighed out around 55#. Shoots great, though I doubt I’ll hunt with it any time soon, I need much more practice.

Great shot for 18yds.

When the new one shows up im thinking I have to take it out in the woods and hunt with it at least one time  but you know the deer or  Squirrel  is Going to want to like commit suicide  lol cause I'm not gonna take a far shot with a recurve at least not this year

I'm a lazy old fart now and hunt with a crossgun, but back in the day I hunted with recurves.  I had a couple of Brackenbury bows and actually had the last bow that he ever made.  I had called him personally and asked him to make me a custom bow.  A month or 2 later I was in the archery shop and the owner asked if I heard that Jim had died.  I was obviously sad that he died but also bummed that I didn't get my bow.  Well a couple days later UPS shows up with my bow and on the riser it says "Custom made for Rusty by Jim Brackenbury".

Jim was a great bowyer. Names escape me now, but he trained at least 2 bowyers that went on to be pretty good themselves. I've built several strings for all of them
