Heard Gobblers yesterday morning for the first time in 4 years.

Stepped out on the front deck 20 mins before light to grab an arm full of firewood and to my surprise heard one gobbling right off to the side in the woods. I quickly threw on a coat and headed to the side of my barn, leaned against the wall with the sky just starting to lighten and low and behold heard 3 if not 4 gobblers sounding off within a few hundred yards with a couple within 100 yds. This has changed my whole outlook on life.

    I am seeing sign in the " Ghost Town" of North New Jersey.  Pickings have been slim the last 3 years there as well.

   And as you,I have a better situation  going on this Spring. My area of New York remains Strong- so no problem  there.

Nice!! Before we moved, I told my wife that I wanted a house where I could sit on the deck with my morning coffee and listen to turkeys gobble! So many people take that for for granted! I love it!

A bird sounding off makes the pulse quicken and excitment  build!!  Add a few sounding off in different directions and a smile cant help crossing your face!

Yep my mornings will now consist of sipping coffee on a stump out back with my ears wide open getting pumped for May 1.

I feel I'm somehow blessed as my hearing has turned to crap over the years but I can somehow still pick out the sound of a distant gobbler better than most. Funny how that works, lol
