Seen DEC the other day in East Nassau stocking the Kinderhook.  There will be a dozen or more cars there Saturday morning.

April 1 is still a big deal? Trout is year round in the SENY reservoirs for keeping and been for decades

will take the boys out tomorrow, just need to check to see if they've stocked Irondequoit creek. We never catch anything, but the boys have fun in the waders.

Good luck to all that get out tomorrow! I was actually upstate last year for the opener, but more to do work on my buddy’s new farm. Waiting until May this year for turkey and work detail.

Haven't fished for trout in years. Used to go all the time to little creeks and brooks all the time.  Mainly used a 5' ultralight combo with 4 lb test and spinners like mepps or rooster tail. Had a lot of fun fishing those little waters. 

Definitely need to get back into it.

yeah the map says April. thanks DEC that really helps. I tweeted at them lol, will see if they or someone else out there knows for sure. No way am I dealing with 3 boys in the rain if there isn't any fish. It's tough enough when there is lol.

They've been known to wait on stocking oatka if it's blown out so good call
