I cram two fork horn antlers I found shed hunting in my pack. Small enough to tickle the tines and I never go "Midwest aggressive" I have had some luck but it was in a very small parcel with good buck numbers (suburbia!). I got the feeling those boys like to/needed to scrap a bit. My buddy actually was on stand one night where two bucks were going at it hard!!!  He was shocked how violent it was!

Have rattled in one possible buck.2 years ago i txt my cousin and said im going to do a rattle/ grunt sequence.he had a small 6pt damn near run him over in his ground blind heading right my way to see what was going on.grunting on the other hand has paid off for me,have grunted in and harvested 4 bucks(including my biggest in 2020).obviously others just ignored it and kept it moving,1 buck I turned around with bleat call and harvested.its a 50/50 thing to me,either it peaks their interest or they don't give two craps
