Do they still make the Browning blr take down?

Recommended Posts

I looked at the website and on one page says they dont make them anymore but on another part of there website it says they still make certain calibers . Anyone know  the story and why if they did would they discontinue such a great gun?

They still make the BLR in 4 models. But looks like they are limiting the BLR Takedown to the Lightweight 81 Laminate Stock Stainless Model .  Click on this link and then click the specifications bar. It shows you which calibers they are making the takedown in and which ones they have discontinued making them in .

Out of the shorter 20 inch barrel list the one I would not pick for big woods hunting is the 243. Its killed thousands of deer sitting in a tower where you can have perfect shot placement , but I would want more fire power in the big woods still hunting and tracking . You want a bullet thats going to go right through with an exit hole and create a nice wound channel for the best blood trail. Rarely are you going to get the perfect shot tracking or still hunting. Myself out of those 4 calibers, I would lean towards a 308 using 150 or 165 gr bullets. The 7mm-08 and 6.5 creedmoor are nice calibers too . But of all the very successful trackers I know , none of them use a 7mm-08 or a 6.5 creedmoor if that means anything .
