From Hunter + Marksman To Top Fighter Ace

If you have 55 minutes  check this video out. A big part of what made Richthohen  the Top Ace of WW1 was his upbringing  in Hunting  where he became a Top Marksman as well.

Alot of the WW1 Fighter Aces were also Leaders of their own Squadrons. I Believe  Sleep Deprivation  is a major factor which leads to Rookie  mistakes not just with Manfred Von Richthohen- but with  Aces on both sides as they had to fly  at least 4 Sorties each Day

Manfred was also a dedicated  Hunter of both Small and Big Game.

Probably  one of the best shots among Pilots  from either side.

But it was an Australian  Machine Gunner from the Ground and not Roy Brown that brought him down.

He should have been grounded after achieving  80- the Highest Kill count of all Fighter Pilots as he was suffering from PTSD and Lack of Sleep leading to Rookie mistakes that cost him his Life.

I just happened  to watch this video again. Probably  the best  video as far as who brought Richthohen down.

Only 12 to 20 seconds of Life left and Richthohen  brought his Triplane down in a rough landing after getting shot by Australian machine gunner- Popkins.

I think in the end Richthohen  was suffering from Post Traumatic Syndrome  and lack of sleep from too many sorties each day.

Excellent  Military video if you have time.
