Gobblers Starting to Show Up

Cabin Fever

Recommended Posts

I needed a mid-morning break from the home office today, so I went out on the deck to stretch and get some fresh air. To my surprise, I heard 3 gobbles behind the house! I thought I'd go out on lunch to check trailcams to see if I had any pics of the new visitors. Had pics of 3 gobblers within 125 yards of the house in the last few days. Interesting that every year, they are only around from late March until the end of May. Oh well, at least they're around during hunting season anyways. The one strutted in front of the cam for 20 minutes and I got 160 pics of him! LOL

Must have decent nesting habitat for hens .. then the toms show up

Must be lacking in the nesting department. I’ve been here 3 years, but have yet to see a poult. I’ve put a spanking on the nest raiders over the past 3 years, but that apparently hasn’t helped…
