I've come very close to ordering a couple rechargeable hand warmers, but I just haven't pulled the trigger yet. I use the Hot Hands single use packets. I like the convenience and that I can slip them in my gloves/mittens, but if they even get a little wet, they're useless. I've been eyeing the rechargeable handwarmers, but they seem kind of bulky (~6"x4"x1.5").? I figured I'd see if anyone uses them and get their thoughts on them before I order.

This is what I have. I have only played with it sitting at home. $25 from Amazon. Turning it on low it gets warm instantly and also on low it will last for 8hrs. When you turn it off it is cold instantly.

I have had it sitting here for almost 2 weeks and it still was half charged.

I don't always wear gloves so I think I wouldn't buy another

I use the rechargeable hand warmer and they are great. Stick one inside my muff hand warmer and good to go.

The best though is the heated vest. If you don't have one can't recommend them enough.

I just bought unigear on amazon and it seems pretty solid. just don't get the  ones they sell at home depot. I turned it on at 7 am and it was like an icicle by 830.

going on 2 years and no issues. No more mess and waste with the activated ones and can serve as a backup phone charger if you need it. For $24 even it breaks soon it's still cheaper than the single use warmers. Fits great in a muff.

Yea, I have gravitated to a lot of outfits with the built in muff style pocket. Way more comfortable to keep my hands warm and requires just one hand warmer. I wear very light gloves which is my preference and during archery none on my one hand and this works great for me.

I got one for Xmas and if it lasts one season it more than paid for itself with what I spent on chemical hand warmers. So far so good.
