Yeah i dont ask stupid money some of these fish sell for 10s of thousands. My biggest koi are 25 years old and nearly 30 in . I have a few that would fetch big money and have turned down offers. These are just some of the off spring that i can catch when born and let grow a bit in another pond with no other fish. mowin and Bucksnbows 2

Are they like pets or the older 10k ones keep the pond better?

Certain color combinations ( all have names in Japanese) are rare or desired. It takes a lot to be a certified breeder. I just sell to people who want a couple for their ponds,And dont want to pay 100 bucks for a 10 to 12 in fish. Let alone getting into fancy koi. I only save a few that hatch out of my big pond before the walleye, bass, perch, crappie and catfish get em. Maybe if im lucky 20 or so a year. I then transfer them to one of my bait ponds and let em grow for a year or so. to 5 to 10 inches.. . Some. Of my big koiand last uears babies now 4 to y in And last years babies now 4 to 7 inches Ncountry, Spysar, Upstate Nerdneck and 5 others 8

Not really a koi pond jist a large pond with koi in it.. its an acre 20 ft deep i put koi in it 20 uears ago so nephews/ niece could see some fish... they just keep growing . But the young usualy are eaten quickly by the bass perch çrappie walleye and catfish.. i just started rescuing some when insee them and transer to a bait pond to let em.grow a bit.
