corydd7 Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 You guys no better then I. Is there a right time to take a charter? Any boat recommendations? Four or five guys, from what I've read late June or early July seems like a good date. Not after a certain bite we just want action. Any help or recommendations would be very much appreciated.
Arcade Hunter Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Ive used Buckaroo Charters out of Kent NY in the past. Cant say enough good things about this outfit.
Moho81 Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 I’ve been on Captain Matt Yablonsky’s charters twice now. Both times we were chasing King Salmon. Both times we limited out. He goes after everything though. He talks, jokes busts balls etc with ya as well as walk you through what he’s doing as far as set up goes if your interested in knowing that stuff http://www.getthenetwet.com/
518BowSlayer Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 (edited) I've been going 2 - 3 times a year for about 5 years now and absolutely love it! Went with a great captain for the first 4 years then he retired and recommended us to another that we went out with twice last year. 1st time we did pretty good, 2nd time we absolutely crushed em! Trout One Charters. Bryan is great guy and a great captain. From my experience April and May they usually troll really close to shore and the action can be very good. Usually a mixed bag of fish because they're all in shallow water at that time. Could catch kings, browns, steelhead, or lakers. June, July and August are usually all about kings but I do remember 1 July trip where we limited out on browns. Mid summer can be a little hit or miss depending on weather. Sometimes it's great and sometimes it's a struggle. September can be the best time for kings and coho. We always try to go somewhere near labor day and it's usually killer because they're stacking up near the mouths of the rivers. I've only fished the eastern side of Ontario so I'm not sure if it's different towards the west side. When they're biting it's about as fun as it gets though! https://troutonecharters.com/index.html Edited November 14, 2022 by 518BowSlayer grampy, mowin, Versatile Hunter and 1 other 4

Everyone should experience having a big King on the line at least once in their life. So much fun and good eating as well. 518BowSlayer and treeguy 2

What part of Lake Ontario you looking for? Several good charters on eastern side of the lake go out of Oswego and Pulaski area.

He gets bookings from many out of staters as well . Discount for military and first responders too . https://www.facebook.com/maketheturncharters Edited November 14, 2022 by Nomad

None of my buddies are interested.

I'm East of Albany.

Farflung Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 My buddies and I have been going out of Oswego with T-K Charters. Captains Bob and Tom. Father and son. Usually the high boat in the harbor each day. Been going for over 20 years, multiple trips per year. Late April and May are the best for browns, Lakers any time and Mid August thru early sept for Kings. corydd7 1
