The Easiest Thing To Forget To Pack " IS"...

   For me- that would be a Half Mask.  In fact today,I am throwing in my glove compartment  an extra one.

  What if anything do you forget to pack?

I keep checklists for turkey, small game, archery, and rifle seasons and update them as needed. So long as I print them out and check each item off or cross it out as unnecessary, I don’t forget things. I do the same for fishing trips.

I never pack anything  simply dress and head  out into woods..   but those that come here  most frequently leave their licence/ tags at home . 2nd most forgptten is key for a trigger lock on a gun.

I forget to replace my gallon ziplock bag. I’m usually miles back when I kill birds  and I breast them out so I don’t have to tote the whole bird out. It sucks when I realize I don’t have one!

 I already have the permethrin on the clothes .  But forget to put the can of bug spray in the truck for the skeeters and mayflies.

I forgot my shotgun one day.  I was so pissed. Lucky I only live a few miles away and got in the woods only a few minutes late.

I honestly don't think I've ever forgotten anything. If I have, I can't remember what it was...

Head lamp.  Usually remember right about 5 minutes before legal ends a mile deep in the woods.

 

Oh and tow line for bow + backpack.

Do you take any Pictures before cutting them up? Do you take with you the Legs with Spurs and Beard for memory?

same. sometimes i forget to restock the tp from the previous year. It's the run and gun of turkey that always gets me going vs deer hunting which is much rarer.

I take a pic or two.  Haven't saved a beard or spur in yrs.  Same as antlers, most get cut up for the dogs to chew on.

I rarely take pictures, I keep the beard with the tag for proof  that it’s a bearded turkey. When I get home the beard goes in the trash. I used to keep them all but  I had an entire wall of beards and legs on display that got thrown away when I downsized houses. I don’t keep most of my antlers either.

I put and keep everything in a backpack for the month. If I forget something it's usually coffee or a snack. It's not like deer season where I go from carrying my arm guard and release to the ML stuff to (new as of last year) crossbow cocking string, to just some ammo then finally back to ML stuff. Turkey stuff is just a few calls that I would just keep in a pocket if I didn't attach my chair or turkey lounger to the pack instead of having it flop around slung over my shoulder while trying to walk and carry a shotgun.
