Fanny packs,worn across the chest

Perhaps the final straw in a doomed world ?

A few months back I asked Mrs Nomad wtf is up with theses goofballs wearing Fanny packs across their chest ? She had never seen that new “ fashion statement “ popular with soft men and silly women , so I started pointing it out , as she has poor situational awareness . Normally I avoid those with neck or face tattoos, ones wearing hoodies and masks and other assorted mental defects , I’ve since added these freaks .

Well the other day I’m on FB ( rare of me ) and I see a friends pics of them in PR, and he’s wearing one across his chest . A man, prof FF, deer hunter , actually likes girls . I’m thinking of some sort of intervention upon his return ,  but this may require professional help and drugs .

Dunno. If I see a dude wearing a fanny pack I often consider that he may be toting a pistol in it.

I think the idea is that,  when traveling,  your personal items are more secure and less prone to pick pocket type thefts.  As a practical idea,  I get it.  As a fashion statement,  I think it's pretty stupid.

35 years ago when I was cycling every day, I used a large technical waist pack to carry shit in and out of places and I would swing it around and let it rest on my chest for easy access. In short, I invented the chest pack. I recall someone saying, "that's pretty smart," and like an idiot, I ignored her. 

This whole time I could have been sitting on big chest pack money!

I have to admit........when hunting I sling my fanny pack across my chest. That way it doesn't ride down my hips. And I don't make any noise unbuckling it either. Much more comfy and secure across my chest. And just slip it off and hang it up when I get to my set up.

I just took the 18hr mandated   concealed carry training this past weekend. When going over carry methods one of the instructors mentioned purses for the lady's and after I pointed out that maybe I like to carry a purse, he couldn't look at me straight again without laughing..lol. And no.  I don't carry a purse except occasional hanging onto my gf's on occasion.. 😉 

Forgot we are talking about fanny packs or is it purses. Lol.Close enough .

No. It was a tactical and technical pack that sat midbody for ease of deployment.
