mowin Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 (edited) Found this yesterday. The hole is probably 24" across, but not quite as tall. Buddy thinks it's a woodchuck hole, but it's huge. He said if a coyote den, the outside would be littered with bones and hair.. Edited April 26, 2023 by mowin
grampy Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 Probably woodchuck. A coyote may take it over at some point to have pups. But usually won't dig something like that on their own. Bucksnbows, mowin and dbHunterNY 1 2

BowmanMike Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 I got two Parson Russell terriers, they aren't scared of poking in a hole like that... mowin 1
dbHunterNY Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 i've seen holes from woodchucks that big. typically they're not new but the same hole cleaned out over multiple seasons. if fox or coyote or other furbearing predator you'd typically see bones at the entrance like someone typed. if a woodchuck look for a secondary hole somewhere along the same hillside. grampy 1

There is a second hole about 30' away.
