Lawdwaz
I checked a few cards and lo and behold I got a cock pheasant on one camera! It repeats three times for your viewing pleasure. Just about as odd as anything……there’s no reason that bird should be around!! Had a bear on the same camera and an amazing bobcat video on a log that I deleted! 🙄 grampy, Doebuck1234, Rusty and 7 others
mowin
I can safely say, I've never gotten a pic of one.
Lawdwaz
The closest place the DEC would have released birds last fall is about 4 miles away as the crow flies..........6 months ago! How it eluded all the predators (four legged and flying) and made it through the winter is bizarre. I'd love to know where he thinks he's going.......... blackbeltbill
grampy
Nice! Almost as rare as getting a Bigfoot on video!

phade
I’ve found micro populations exist but super rare. I’ve gotten single digit photos of them running cams for years and years. One spot was by my first house which the surrounding area in the 50s was a pheasant preserve. No releases even remotely close by. I wish I would have grabbed a an old posted sign - no longer relevant - as a keepsake. I was able to shoot one, one year. Dang thing was in my field and I had to research the season dates in the fall and then made my way out and got him with my .410 of all things. Got him ready for mounting and my garage freezer went out while on vacation for two weeks. It was a loss. Congrats on getting one on cam. That’s a prize in and of itself. dbHunterNY
we raised them but never could sustain a population. even with it being mostly hay ground (which does get mowed off though).
