Cabin Fever
Had such a stretch of warm dry weather in April, but it's rained every day for the past week or so! It's a sloppy mess out there! Still have things to do in the yard and plot that I wanted to accomplish, but it's wayyyyy too wet now! Lots of standing water and mud! UGH!! Bucksnbows
I’d rather have a wet year than a dry year like last year. Right now, we are still behind in rainfall for the year in most areas. But it would be nice to space it out. Cabin Fever
Crazy! I wanted to get outside in between showers, just to get out of the house, but within a few minutes it would start raining again! WTF! I want to get out and finish filling some holes after grinding stumps and reseed, but much of the yard is swampy/standing water! Still want to over seed the clover plot, but it's saturated too...
phade
Wet springs have a correlation to a good antler growing season. So, silver lining. grampy and Cabin Fever

Drought during summer can slow acorn crop?? Think I read that last year or heard it last year somewhere. Not sure. Got pic of a deer yesterday with knobs sticking out all ready on his head. 9jNYstarkOH
With all this rain and cold weather pasture is muddy. Spaced out rain with a little more sun and warmer temps in next week forecast so hopefully it clears up.

I'll be able to watch them grow as I'm mowing. 9jNYstarkOH and Cabin Fever
Wolc123
Wet May = Good Hay. It will be nice when it dries up enough to finish my spring plowing however. I only finished this little, very well-drained 1/4 acre, in my front yard so far. At least that should let me get in some early (70 day) sweetcorn on time this year. As long as I can get another 4-5 acres out back worked up and ready to plant with RR corn and late sweetcorn by the end of June, it should work out ok for deer food plots, and the rest of our sweetcorn freezer supply. One nice thing about global warming, is that the fall frosts have been coming later every year. I love having ripe silver queen and kandy corn into October. crappyice
If you ever said, "Man I want to live in Ireland" you now have had good practice with the weather. Funny thing is about Ireland is they just don't stop things and deal with the weather much better. We cancel things for THREAT of weather-love that as a teacher!!!!.
