Look out NY, here I come….

……for my first turkey weekend of May. Headed up to the Garrattsville area near Cooperstown on Friday and returning Sunday. A couple of mornings turkey hunting with my best friend of 54 years and then helping he and his wife prune their 5 acre high fence pick-your-own blueberry patch. Our other friends (husband and wife) will also be up to join us. My wife had long planned weekend with our daughter in the city, so I’m flying solo. Much better turkey numbers there than where I hunt in NJ.

So if you feel a disturbance in the force, it’s just me.

Good luck and enjoy the fresh NY air - you may never go back which probably says more about NJ than NY!!! 🤣

Any interest in plugging the blueberry farm? Always interested in new spots to support

Not sure what you mean by plugging?  I know the patch was not cared for for about 4 years and my friends are focused on bringing it fully back.

I will probably sit with one buddy on Saturday and the other on Sunday and do the calling for both. Maybe we get a lucky chance at a double.  We never turkey hunted the new farm, so lots to learn. Going to try to roost some tomorrow evening.

I have seen turkeys strutting every day for a week now. Almost hit one this morning...I think you will have a great weekend for it.

Good to hear.  I'll let you know if we hit Cooley's one evening while we are up.  If not this trip, I'll be back the weekend of May 19th with the wife in tow this time.

I mean "tell us the name of the farm so we can potential pick from it"

I thought you meant the farm was open for the public to pick (and pay) for their own blueberries

Roger that. I’m not sure what it’s called as it does have a name. I’ll find out tomorrow and let you know.
