Do I need a different breech plug for BH209?

Shooting a TC encore. Usually use 50/50 pellets, but can't find any.  However, a buddy gave me a lb of bh209 that I'll gladly use, but not sure if I need to swap out the breech plug.

Are the pellets you shoot Triple Seven?

The omega and the encore use the same breech plug and will ignite bh209, you should use a hotter primer though..

Use  1/8 drill bit spun by hand to make sure flash channel is clean

Yes, triple 7, 50/50.  I've got two boxes of 45/70 a buddy picked up for me by mistake.

Don't know where you're located, but I have almost a full box of the Triple Seven 50/50 pellets, that I would give you. I switched to BH209 a couple years ago. I'm in Canandaigua (East of Rochester), if you're interested.

Make sure you pack the 209 tight with the rod before putting the sabot in. Someone I know didn't do it and got a very delayed shot sequence until he figured that out. Won't name names here...

I’ve used BH209 in my TC Encore with original breech plug since BH209 came out with CCI standard 209 primers and never had any issues at all.

I use 209 in my Encore with the factory and have had major issues with the muzzleloader primers, this year Ive got CCI209s and expect better results.

1/8th seems huge no?

All TC muzzleloader will use a 1/8" drill bit turned by hand. If it seems big it may be plugged some 

I'd recommend using cci209m or Federal 209A primers
