Steuben Jerry Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 Whose rifle opener will be impacted by this? Steuben County is on the fringe of this and only expected to get a trace to a couple inches Friday through Sunday but they’re calling for up to several feet for south of Buffalo! Who will be wading out in thigh-deep snow on Saturday? nywaw 1
Moho81 Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 Headed to camp Thursday night. I’ll be there until Sunday evening. I don’t expect this to stop much. Yes it’s a lot of snow but it’s over 3-4 days. I’m season has sucked already so why not toss in a snow storm. Nomad 1
nywaw Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 Looking like a crazy storm brewing! Good luck, stay safe all and enjoy the opener! Love hunting in the snow, but trekking through FEET of it isn't fun!
coldwater Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 Some snow on the ground is nice for visibility and quiet still hunting. I'm in Allegany County and we might have just the sweet spot in terms of quantity. I'll be out there, regardless.
Splitear Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 We're heading back to Illinois on Sunday morning, travelling through probably midday. Hopefully it's not too much of a mess. Good luck with it!
Arcade Hunter Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 Im hunting northern Wyoming county Saturday.... I am betting Ill drive out and away from the band as long as I can get out of Akron
mowin Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 We won't see any snow. Too far east. Wouldn't mind a couple inches. Arcade Hunter and Bucksnbows 1 1

If you have a 4wheeler drive it around the trails, deer like using the tracks in higher snow. gregtpal and Bucksnbows 2
Bolt Action Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 Good luck and be safe to anyone going out in this. Also, keep in mind your plan for what happens after the shot if the snow is coming down. I lost a good buck a few years ago because the snow covered the blood trail. Steuben Jerry 1
NYRturkeycall Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 I don't think it should affect us. I'll be hunting in Chemung county. Be safe all. Palma non sine pulvere
Doebuck1234 Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 Wouldn't mind a few inches for opener but don't think that going to happen.in eastern part of genesee county, thankfully!
Robhuntandfish Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 with that kinda snow might be a few lake Erie walleye falling from the sky in it. Good luck all. Looks like Watertown area is under the gun as well from Ontario. treeguy 1 "it's pointless for humans to paint scenes of nature when they can go outside and stand in it"- Ron Swanson

Good Idea, I might just have to make a loop around the trails that our ground blind is on. Not only will that make it easier on us but also the deer. ZAG 1
