This is interesting. When they put these in they, the state, ruined an enormous wild blueberry patch that we used to frequent.  There was often bear sign in there but we never saw a bear .  Usually a deer or two around.  

My south Adirondacks spot I try to get to every year for a still hunt is a lesser used trail area off the backside of this.  No horses out there in the fall but all the trails are definitely trampled down to dirt and sand.
