i believe that poachers don't care if they lose a license or not but still he should lose it for some period of time. it's all codified into law what the punishment can be. what they should've done is confiscate his gun, anything else he used to shoot it, and then impounded his truck.... right in front of his son. make them need to find a ride home. something to make the son think not that "dad got caught this time" but "that was stupid and not worth it". when i took personal time off of work to see through deer poaching legislation it blew my mind how NY state legators watered down the penalties and omitted some of what we had written in. sure it passed but penalties were going to be double in the presence of a minor. NYS law makers thought that just wasn't right. go figure.

haha, imagine trying to poach a turkey!

imagine trying to poach a turkey with your 14 year old son!

Take this guy's kid away from him!

sure he's a 180 from father of the year but taking his kid away is a bit much. i'd rather the kid look at him everyday with shame on his face as he the dad goes to community service, finds a ride to work, etc all because of stupid decisions.

that's my point. you have to show the kid consequences to convince his mind that it's not worth it. if he sees the dad struggle from the dad's own decisions a light bulb might go off.

I mean, WHY?  That is really messed up.  How much does a turkey breast cost at Wally World?

Same reason people shoot fence deer, so they can lie about it and pretend they're real hunters.

It’s no longer easy for me to care about game violations. Every day in Roch people in stolen kias shoot illegal guns out the windows at people, houses , cars . They drive the stolen cars into parked cars , houses , ram store fronts and ,loot them and nothing happens ! Car jackings ,shootings a daily thing and nothing happens .

Cops can’t chase them , if they’re somehow caught they get an appearance ticket which they never show for . People steal carts of items from stores with zero consequences , if John Q. Public fights back they get arrested .

A recent trail where a guy being chased by RPD,turned and fired his illegal gun at the cops , only convicted of IPW .

Take the Turkey police and put them on city streets .

I’m not against enforcing game laws , but let’s look at current facts , this is right now . The west side of Roch ,a small city is holding 52 priority one calls , those  are the most serious crimes ,and nobody is coming and calls continue to stack up .

Meanwhile the Turkey police are staking out Turkey decoys . Lol

I get what you're saying, but the answer isn't to not enforce game laws and send ECO's to the city.
