People don’t know how bad it’s going to get

Waiting six hours or more  for the police will be standard on calls like this heck,it is now .

When I was taking all the tests in the ‘80s , RPD got 3500 or so taking the exams , the last one just given had 600, of which only 400 bothered to take the second part ,the physical test. Of those only 49 passed that part ,which is another thread in itself, as I could pass it at 64 .

Now those 49 IF they continue in the process, will have an extensive back ground check, a psychological exam , a Drs exam ,plus a lengthy interview to pass.   If they’re lucky they’ll end up,with perhaps 25 candidates to hire from .  It’s a 3 year list of  25 ,and around 30 on average retiring each year so 90 leaving  over those 3 years .

As they say, do the math !

It’s getting so bad and with no end in sight! It took me 4 yrs to get hired and I got a 100 on the test, I had an academy class of 110 recruits. Now there is no test and the last academy class started with less than 25 and that was after going months without a class. We’ve had 30 people retire in the last 12 months and haven’t gotten a single replacement, add comp and long term sick and we’re operating at 60% staff.

....and here Hochul made it nearly impossible to legally carry a concealed firearm. I mean there was nothing to stop them from doing whatever they wanted to that woman other than her will to protect herself. County Sheriffs and NYSP can't pick up slack? I see NYSP everywhere here in the Capital Region, hanging out to dole out speeding tickets. that's just unfortunate. this state is so mismanaged.

I think the scary part of this is that the expectations for LEO's and the like is even higher now too. With everything filmed, you can't even make a slight mistake these days. All while being constantly under the threat that someone may pull a gun on you and having to know within a split second that it's a phone and not a gun. Throw in the recent left's thinking that LEO's should also be mental health professionals in an increasingly disturbed society... and then of course those that still wear the badge have a large group out there asking they be defunded and politicians supporting it.

shocking that this is happening. not.

Now- more then ever Men and Women should take a Street Oriented  Long Term Martial Arts Training.  Especially  those approaching age 40 and beyond.

And you need to Train in a serious manner as if your Life is on the Line with a Good Teacher.

100% Ground Grappling  is not the answer and neither  is 90% High Kicks and few Realistic  Hand Techniques.  Alot of what one needs to Learn,I can't  write here.

Carry the Gun. I carry a Legal Knife as a Backup although,I also have a Full Carry.   Your Backup should be Active and ongoing Self Defense  Training.

If,I have reached 1 member or 1 Guest with this Post- it was a success.

At my ripe old age - mid 60's - I still do not have a pistol license .  I am still debating getting one , if its still possible ?

Definitely.  Just a PITA.

My gf and I applied March of 22. She recieved her cc permit end of  August , just before the new rules applied. My application was slowed down a couple weeks because a couple of my references didn't answer the phone call initially. So I fell under the new rules . They issued me an on premises permit November/Decemberish. I took the 18 hr course a month ago. I Just appeared in court in front of the judge for the last step this past week.  Now I have to wait 2-3 more weeks to get my cc permit.. What a pain in the @$$.

So ...15 months later I will have a permit to carry.

That is one of the most important things ! I have a friend who did the backgrounds for RPD, when my daughter turned hers in , he said to make sure the references answer or at least check their voicemails .

When one gets called he should notify the applicant, and they in turn call the others .

It can be very frustrating for the officers , and they move on to the next in the pile .

and Congrats.

Saw on the news that RPD reported they are already currently down 80.

....but carry in very limited circumstances. Congrats though. It'll only get harder until SCOTUS finally sees cases on the new laws get through then rules on them, hopefully in favor of 2A.

83 a week my man . Use The club and block it in if you can . They wreck the cars, smash the navigation system if so equipped, write all over the headliner ,dash ,seats and doors with markers .

If I had A KiA id debadge it , remove all emblems, maybe even slap a Ford one on .

I debadged the Subaru just for the clean lines and uncluttered hatch .

Parking lots , hospitals are getting hit hard.

30 cars were simply damaged in a ramp garage the other night as well .

And heard from retired guy ,RPD is now down 90 officers, takes one year from when an academy class starts till they’ll be on the road ,6 month academy 6 month field training . Ha ha ha

90 is like 3 academy classes behind ,do the math as they say

that’s  a FB group for Roch stolen and found cars , scroll through and there’s some video of them racing around as well .Most are armed as well so there’s that too .

The old method of using bolt cutters to cut the steering wheel to slide The Club off seems to be used again as well .

and we worry about having an extra round or two in the mag lol
