Honestly should be 50. Like who cares?

I think they should allow it all season  just because they cant enforce it anyway..  2 eco per  county...  deer need to be taken ..does especially.. i saw the uproar about the doe  only early gun season... wouldnt be needed if  archers killed doe  often and early.. that was  main reason to allow doe tag all of archery years ago.... unfortunately it seems everyone  is a trophy buck hunter 1st  except gun guys...  so  they turned it over to gun hunters... im sure yhey will expand doe  only gun early seaaon even mor eas  more and mor earchers drop out due to age or inability to draw a bow...

This is where you and I would disagree. I don't see too many doe in my area. I see them in areas where hunters can't access them. I know I'm not alone in the thinking that access is the issue, not bowhunters. I would have liked to take another doe or 2 last year and it wasn't for lack of trying.

The hot early season probably deters some archers from even being in the woods at all let alone shooting an animal for meat and then scrambling to get it cooled down.

in the Carolinas or Georgia/Florida, I would think they deal with heat all the time and figure it out. There must be a method

Got two choices.  Drop it off at a butcher hopeful your deer gets into a cooler ASAP, or break it down yourself and into a cooler with ice or fridge.

im not big on the early season.  All i see is does with fawns.  and sitting in the heat hunting just doesnt seem right.  I plan to do more fall fishing this season and not hunt much til late Oct.

True in a lot of places, but where I hunt there is hardly a buck around all summer . 1-2 small ones usually then late Oct we have 8-12 bucks.  It's like clockwork every season.  I guess it's better than the other way around.  A couple of  years ago we never got a buck pic til Oct 23rd.  Our area seems to be a draw for the does but not a summer or early fall hangout for the bachelor bucks.

Nah we got em here when it counts.  Late Oct - Thanksgiving.  We have done about all we can as it's mostly swamp and even part wetlands.  So we can only do so much.   We have seeded the trails and that has made a huge change for us by drawing in more does.  The golf course nearby feeds them all winter.  I've really come to enjoy the place.  Some of the few trees here have now grown enough that we can put full ladder stands up in them.

My challenge is usually any buck over 5 points and very happy with that.  Most years it's a doe apiece for the freezer which is goal #1.  But we have enough big ones around to keep it exciting and play the game. They just don't summer here in bachelor groups.  Some guys have lots of bucks in the summer then they vanish.  We are on the right end of that. Lol.

The golf course across the road feeds them well all winter.
