Tactacam Reveal Upgrade Program

Recommended Posts

I started having an issue with one of my Gen 1 Reveals. It's 3 years old and I only paid $99 for it, so I've gotten my moneys worth out of it. It's way out of warranty, but I decided to call Tactacam to see if they had any suggestions to try to get it working again. I didn't know this, but you can send cams in for repair and they charge $20.99 + $5.99 shipping. I was also told that they currently have an "Upgrade Program", that I can return my cam and upgrade to a brand new Reveal X-Pro for $105 + $5.99 shipping. I decided to go that route instead of them trying to repair my Gen 1. Thought I'd mention incase someone else finds themselves in a similar situation. I thought it was pretty cool!

We do currently have a trade-in program available where if you send us your current REVEAL Camera we will upgrade you to one of our NEW REVEALS! After sending us your camera, we will upgrade you to your choice of camera.

We can upgrade you to one of the following:
REVEAL X 2.0 for $89 plus tax and $5.99 for Shipping
REVEAL X-Pro for $105 plus tax and $5.99 for Shipping
Shipping to Canada is $25.00.  (All prices are in USD)

That's not a bad deal.  They also have fantastic CS, unlike GSM(stealth cam).

Yeah, knowing I would be down a cam now, I would have bought a Reveal X-Pro to replace it anyways. They're going for $155 on Amazon, so I was happy to get one for $105 through Tactacam's Upgrade Program!

I'm surprised they don't pimp that program more to get the word out...

Just received my X-Pro that I replaced my Gen 1 with. The upgrade program is pretty cool!

Yeah I'll be considering this as well depending on the outcome of my issues.  Only downside is having to pay for the upgrade and also for new lock boxes.

I’m not as high on the pro model. There have been some indications that it’s not as high performing as the non pro model. I don’t want to get into detail with why I hold that impression but just be aware that it may miss triggers. If someone wants a TC, I suggest they stick with the Gen 2.0. Personal opinion based on some factual detail I’ve experienced and also seen verified to a degree.

Interesting. I have practically zero  experience with the Pro. I’m not too keen on the X’s, just because they don’t have an LCD screen. I hate that if I don’t have an active cell plan, I can’t change the cam time, date or settings. In the spring, I need to activate all cam cell plans at some point, just to update the time, date, and settings.
