Although the way the weather is these days it gets hard to tell.  I'm pretty sure last year first week of November was really warm.  But like you said those green leaves.

November 1 by far.  Oct 1 in my area I dont usually have more than a buck or two around and most of the does are still tight to the fawns.  Plus I'm not much on hunting in 70-80 degrees.
