Late season is when we fill the freezer.  Double myself and a buddy shot during the holiday season.

Another from last yr. Somehow I pulled the 60yd shot and she decided to swim across the kinderhook creek.  Same buddy didn't want to wait for a canoe.

i don't wait until late season anymore. seems like whenever i did we got a bulk of the snow for the year and it was a PITA to get them back to an accessible location. i try to take doe pre-rut then let the dust settle and bucks hole up in our cover unpressured.

I agree. I try to put 2-3 does in the freezer every fall and prefer to do it with archery equipment if possible.

It's almost July, I'd say that's very late season.
