I'm really thinking about getting into the beetle cleaning business. There's no one that I can find around me (cattaraugus county) I dropped off my dad's dead head last night to a kid that just does the boiling method. He's got a pile of heads and he's just starting. There's gotta be money in it.

There's a guy near me that does skulls. Not sure what method he uses, but early in the season you'll get your head back in about a week.  He dips them to if you want.  Several different camo patterns and a american flag pattern.  They look great.  He charges $125 dipped, and I believe last year he did over 200 heads.  Here's a picture of my buddies daughters.

He would be boiling them. Beetles take time. Both methods work well, but boiling can destroy some of the finer bones in the nasal cavity if not done right.

These are a few I completed the other day.  Extremely pleased with how they turned out.     I gave my brother his early Xmas present last evening…he was very happy!!  I simmer them and have no problem with preserving the delicate inner noise bones.  It is a lot of work…labor of love!  I have hydro dipped some…always cool how they turn out.
