Outdoorstom
Just curious how people anchor their elevated blinds. I’ve found the easiest and incredibly secure way is using t posts. I drill a hole near the top of the posts before I leave my shop, pound them in close, then drill a hole through the blind leg or support and bolt them together. Rock solid! You can’t see it in the pic, but there is one on the opposite side too. grampy, mowin and Robhuntandfish

G-man
I splay my legs. Eliminates a lot od stability issues. for the minimal cost of the brackets it makes them much more stable and secure. Outdoorstom
G-man…..great looking build! I’ve used the brackets on other blinds and still used stakes. Probably not needed, but cheap insurance.
Wolc123
I like open-top blinds, because there are no “blind spots”. A tree umbrella works good on these, when it rains. And the 3 ft high wall provides good wind protection. Platform is 48” square and has a swivel chair in the center. The back 2 x 6 on the nylon decked pt 2 x 4 and 2 x 6 framed platform is lag-bolted to the tree, and the front two 8 ft long pt 4 x 4 legs are bolted to the front corners of the platform. Diagonal wood bracing is nailed into place between the legs and tree. Walls/gun&crossbow rest are 3 ft high, framed with pt 2 x 4’s and sided with weathered barn siding boards. I put this one up last month and it is the third one that I have put up in the last (3) years. It is on a maple tree, and the others are on a poplar and a cherry tree. The platforms are rock solid and they are very comfortable to hunt from in all weather conditions. The 3 ft walls seem to be the key for their effectiveness on deer (especially mature bucks), thanks to the steady rest for the weapon and the excellent concealment which they provide. NYBowhunter
I use elevator brackets with splayed legs and each leg gets a T post. Outdoorstom and Red 1
Farflung
For a lower anchor, I use the 3 foot round metal stakes made to hold up wire mesh when you are pouring cement. Put them out 10 or more feet from the blind base, angled away from the blind. Use steel cable and cable clamps. try to get as high on the blind as possible for a upper anchor point. Must be a bad neighborhood, kids grafittied all over it already. :(
cas
I don't want an elevated bling really, though I have thought of building a flat top one I could just put a pop up blind on. What I really want is just like a lifeguard chair. Get me 8-10 feet off the ground to see more. I was planning on building one before the lumber went nuts in 2020. Same goes for tripod stands, they went cray the same time.
BowmanMike
You just gotta build the base much bigger than the top... G-man
