GPS / fish finder recommendations.

Mine crapped out. Need a new one before we go on vacation next week. 

I need to stay $500 and under. 

I'd appreciate ideas. Thanks.

these days most anything lowrance, hummingbird or garmin works well.  Even the cheapest ones show depth well but just wont have all the additional do-dads.  Should be able to get a decent one for $300-$400.  If you stick with the same type you had before the learning curve will be less on what button does what. When you get up $1000+ then you get the crazy images and links to your trolling motor bluetooth and touchsceen etc.
