Drove down to Philadelphia today to pick up my new truck. I’m sure the traffic wasn’t bad for those that are used to it but I was ready to explode! If I had to deal with this everyday I don’t think I would make it!

I hate traffic.  Congrats.. What did you get?

I went to Baltimore a few years ago to see the Yankees and go to the national aquarium.  If it wasn't for a huge fight with the wife I would've turned around and drove til I saw corn.  Wasn't  worth going thru there.  I have a rule that I will go to Syracuse once a year these days.  Nothing in a city I need that bad or that I want to see.

it’s been years since Ive been to a city bigger than Saratoga other than my annual Albany trips to the va that I time around traffic.

I can’t stand traffic.  I am thankful that I can take back roads to and from work most days and don’t often need to deal with it.

I was expecting much worse, down in VA beach / Norfolk area on vacation the end of last week, but it was tolerable.  San Diego CA, for work the week prior, was horrible as usual.  You couldn’t pay me to live out there (or any where south of the PA line for that matter, but that is a temperature, not a traffic thing.).

High taxes and loco politics are tolerable prices to pay, here in upstate NY, in exchange for our great weather and low traffic.

The gps said 5hrs 1 way left at 8am figured an hour at the dealer “all  my stuff was done and check in hand,” 5hrs home figured I’d be home by 1030 at the latest. Didn’t get to my house until just before 3. Between construction, congestion and a cornucopia of assholes It made the 5,000$ I saved over not buying local not worth it! It will be a long time before I go south of Kingston again!!!!!

Traffic in the Southern states around cities can be pretty bad especially winter time , but the highways have more lanes and higher speed limits so it tends to move better . There’s also some of these lanes that you pay to drive on that parallels the main highway , I jump on them and do 80 with next to no traffic .

We only have to get to a location then stay put for the most part so it’s worth it .

The good thing about where we rent on Lido Key is you don’t need a car , we walk 7 houses to the beach or a half mile to St Armands circle and it’s 130 shops and restaurants. To go over to Sarasota there’s a free trolly that makes the circuit every half hour or so .

But yes a daily  commute in heavy traffic would not be my thing

I try to avoid ANY city driving if at all possible, even Albany. Have not been to NYC in decades!

Take the bus to Yankee games. The only draw to NYC that I have.

We go to Philly every 2 weeks for a Phillies game.  If your journey takes you on 76 just simply find an alternative.  That road is a mess all the time. It's called the Shurekill Expressway for a reason.

I love when waze says...14 miles...59 minutes!

Travel baseball and crew were consistently PA or NJ...nothing worse than crossing the George Washington Bridge on a Sunday night in the spring/summer months
