We use to use sevin spray to thin but haven't in long time as it kills bees / polinators as well. For a few yard trees this works well i wouldnt want to do acerage this way.

I’ve got one apple tree in the yard. It has tasty apples when it produces. Last years crop was bad. So far this years is looking good. I’ll have to check it out to see if it can be thinned. It always produces more than we can eat anyways.

dbHunterNY Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 I brought an apple tree back to life ?last year? and it grew like hell. Apple buds didn't make it but it has to be pruned again.
