From what I've seen in the past, by the first week August, they've pretty much maxed out.

Most growing is done now  . Mineralization is starting  bulbus tips may grow and inch or so but  95 % of growth is done. Of the local bucks some will be starting to shed by 3rd week of august here .

I always go by the bulbs. If no bulbs left it’s nearly done
