Gotta love August 1st

Some Horse Flies are still around.  Skeeters are still numerous after all this Rain that started in Mid June in my area.

 However- Mornings are Cooler indeed!

Too warm, fishing sucks.  Only dislike Jan, Feb more.  

Best months are Nov, Oct, May, June, Sept for me.  

I will trade Aug for another Sept if ya got one.  August doesn't even have a holiday in it for an extra day off from work.

It's more about the promise of things to come.  August itself ain't great but signs of fall are in the air and it gets the blood pumping.

For teachers, the only thing to come after August is September-the beginning of the end!!!

Good thing I haven't cleaned out my truck.  Dug through and found a long sleeve shirt.  I was cold zipping around on the mower this morning. Definitely needed.

Every year around this time I suddenly get the urge to start watching more hunting shows, It's like my body knows that the season is coming. It may have been triggered by the arrival of the Cabels 2023 Hunting catalog.

I’m a teacher and by this time each year I’m looking forward to September.  Everyone keeps asking me when I’m gonna retire and I tell them that I plan on dying here.   

But I teach a class that I created and I really enjoy teaching, so I’m spoiled.   We spend more time in the river and woods than we do in the classroom.

got my bow tuned and restrung in June for this very reason. Plus trying to get 2 new stands in, 6 existing stands checked and trimmed, fall plots and football for 3 boys 4 days a week and weekends starting soon... sheesh it's crazy.
