Even non wireless can be abused per say. I know of someone who checked his camera last day of gun. Noticed a big buck was there 10 min before he got there. Called the family up and they pushed the brush till it finally stood up and he shot it. Fair chase? I guess to each his own. Heck some places you can still use packs of dogs to hunt deer.

Well my trail cams are set to download twice a day once at zero dark thirty and at 1200 and I live 80 miles from where I Hunt. We don't do drives so it's not going to matter.

I also don't make a hit list I know what deer are in the property and the ones I would like to shoot but chances are it will be one I've never seen before. I don't name deer either just buck doe 8 10 stuff like that. I don't want to wast my time chasing some deer on a list. I've killed my share of at least gross PY buck's over the years. I'm out to have fun.

idk i really think they're dropping the ball on this from what the article stated. i mean they still leave it open to interpretation if twice per day, once per day is considered real-time. Some guy or gal is going to plug one that's 214+" typical with with it on cam the morning before the evening hunt and they're going to get the shaft when they try to enter it. it's easy for me to say it because I don't really expect many opportunities on a booner but if a buck i shot was ineligible due to a technicality like that it wouldn't hurt my feelings anyway. I get the coveted cream of the crop size for the booner all time book, but most bucks if given an opportunity to grow to full maturity will never grow a set of antlers big enough, even with trophy deer management and giving them the best food plots, etc. That right there is absolutely ridiculous if you think about it.

meh this ones been pretty beat to death

still need to be in the woods, still need to get within 30 yards undetected and still need to draw your bow and make the shot. That animal has every chance to avoid you and no cell cam that I have heard of will ever "bring them in" or fool them. I'd argue something like ozone could be more of a "fair chase" issue than a cell cam. Note I think ozone is kinda bs, but trying to make a point.

I agree.  Ozone, scents, food plots ECT all can be considered "cheating". Why stop at cameras?

If NY banned cell cams during hunting season, 90% of those hunting private lands would still have them out, me included.

Where do we stop? Its going to be live surveillance of the woods very soon. I dont like it.

Live surveillance? Not realistic. Unless you are the government.

You don't have to like cams, that's your choice.

All of my cams are near a stand. If I'm in the stand and I get a pic without seeing the deer first, I was sleeping.  If I get a pic of a nice buck in the morning, is that cam keeping him their until the afternoon hunt?

Same argument was said about compound's being unfair, yet it's the weapon of choice.

To me live feed from a camera is unethical, if you’re ok with it then use it. A law won’t change anything because most won’t follow it anyways.

Is there a cell cam with a live feed?

It's more for inventory of what is out there for me. So many times I hunt and see deer that don't walk in front of a cam that particular day.

Same for me , i let my cameras run for weeks at a time without pulling cards . But having said that  i do keep records of times etc. when deer  are photographed though .
