WNY Bowhunter Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 I got this buck in to mount the other day and was wondering if anyone wanted to take a crack at aging him using the traditional tooth eruption method?
mowin Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 He needed dental work. 518BowSlayer, WNY Bowhunter and GreeneHunter 3

His shed from '20 scores the exact same as his current left side. I believe he was at least 5.5 in '20, make him 7.5 this year. His tooth wear sure doesn't seem to match up with this. I am tempted to send his incisors in just out of curiosity but don't know if I will or not... 2021: 2020: Edited November 27, 2022 by WNY Bowhunter Bucksnbows, cervidchasers, grampy and 2 others 5

I'd say my wild guess of a two year old was slightly off target...... Never did get very good at aging a deer by it's teeth. Depending on that particular deers diet, tooth wear can vary greatly. cervidchasers Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 With that much history and shed, I would send it in for exact age. Just looking at him i would say 5.5yr now if that was his shed in 2020. Rusty 1
Lawdwaz Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 If ONLY we had bizzy here..................and since we don't, send the two incisors in and see what they say. Rusty and cervidchasers 1 1

I believe he was 5.5 back then...4.5 at the VERY youngest. cervidchasers and Rusty 2
