So I ordered my son a new hoyt bow as he out grew his first one.

He said he would like a single pin. I’ve only ever had a traditional pin with a hand full of pins and generally only used one or two pins.

Any sight recommendations?

I have the original react single pin from trophy ridge.  Sight it in at 20&30 and presets everything else. I have a hard time with multiple pins so the single is great.  I set it at 25 for hunting and leave it. I won’t shoot past 30-35 yards hunting  so all I do is practice and aim accordingly so I don’t have to move my sight.  But for my bow I am full pin at 30-35 and everything under that I aim top of the pin.

Yes they are very expensive if you want a good one.

Still have an HHA on my old bow. Never moved the sight. Just used the one pin. Sighted it in at 25 yards and was good to go. Aim a tad high out to 35. A tad low at 15. Still shoot that 23 year old MQ-32 every now and then. Great back up bow!

Montana black gold single pin. Those are by far my favorite sight housings . I like them so much I machined an adapter to put the MBG housing on my HHA. The fiber sits inside a housing that auto darkens when it gets brighter out so the light burst around the pin stays consistent.

I love a single pin. Mine came with the bow,it is an HHA and I also set it at 25 and call it good for hunting. Know what your over/under is but I don't have to adjust much with mine. You can probably find a used one on archerytalk.

Check your pms. I recently moved from a Black Gold Ascent single pin sight back to a three pin fixed sight on my Hoyt RX5 Ultra...I just didn't feel it in the woods, even with their dial making it easy to zero. I think I cue to what's above and below the pin, and the vertical fixed pin blocked part of that.

Anyway, I'd be willing to let it go for the low price of nothing, particularly for a kid. I'm in Rush, which shouldn't be too far from you. Give me a shout.

Have no idea without going in the basement what I have brand wise, it’s a normal three pin thing, that I moved the two, bottom pins all the way down and out of the way .

I have an HHA single pin. It has a slider but I don’t use it (except for a 3D shoot once). I keep it set on 25 yards. I practice on high/low to hold between 0-40yds.

I can’t imagine looking at multiple pins just like I can’t imagine using a scope with chevrons. I prefer one crosshair/pin and that’s it

I hope it gets it done for him. The tape is set for shooting 271 fps; if his bow throws arrows at a significantly different speed, he may need a new tape. It took all of ten minutes to get it dialed in with a chronograph and a twenty yard target - most any good archery shop should be able to assist. Good luck
