Got any hard horn yet?

Here's my first of the season.

I saw one where just the tips were hard horned while most of the rack was still in velvet. Yesterday and I’m sure he’s shed the velvet by today.

Seen a spike today in a clients driveway that was looking really ragged.  He'll be clean in a day or two.

I have a trail cam video of a buck on September 7th in velvet and then the same buck on the 8th with no velvet (that was 2021)

I didn't have any when I checked cams this past weekend. There were a couple of bucks that had cracks in the velvet and tine tips poking through. Had to run back out this morning to change batteries in this particular cam and found that one of the other bachelor group members had polished up since saturday...

Yep. I have one in a bachelor group that is all brown/tan and hard horned while the other 4 or 5 are still velvet and orangish.

I was out last evening doing some peeking and the bucks I saw looked like the antlers were hard. All the velvet was gone.
