The “ccw for my wife” made me curious what others are carrying and if it’s the first or only handgun you bought for ccw or if your carry gun has changed over the years.

I’ve had my ccw for almost 14 years got it 14 days after my 21st Bday. My first ccw was a gen3 G26 although I’ve owned probably 30 carry”able”  Guns and still have a bunch of them I still carry a G26 most every day with the very rare occasion of a micro 380 if conditions don’t allow for a G26.

Yes.

Been using these holsters since I got my Permit back in 1992 ; can easily conceal a G23 with an extra mag while wearing anything from shorts and a tee shirt to 3-piece suit.   https://smartcarry.com/

G23 / G2C / P-3AT depending on mood / weather, dress code of the day.

Pretty much each day . Mostly my SW 9mm Shield, rare times a LCP with some mods . I’ve got a bunch I could carry , my M19 Glock is set to go in a wall safe along side two spare mags in a double mag carrier in case the ballon goes up .

I carry most days im off the road. (Farm is literally next door often don’t drive a mile in a day) Usually a smith and wesson 642 .38 although i have many many handguns. Summer months I frequently toss a Kahr P380 in my pocket.

I've had a 22 mag, a .327 Ruger, a bond arms ranger, but all I have now is my judge poly.  Fits my hand the best and it's the pistol Ive enjoyed the most.  Holds 5 rounds. First two are triple buck and other three are slugs.  I rarely carry, too many places I'm at daily that I cannot.

Maybe this is the wrong place to ask this and if so, feel free to ignore or remove my post.
have you ever had to "use" your conceal carry?

While I am not a "gun guy"  I have actually considered pursuing a CC but am more concerned about the repercussion of using (showing, drawing, aiming, firing) said CC  even if legal.

I have never  pulled my pistol and I’ve also only had it for 6months.  I really hope to never need to as well.

I’m not much of a gun guy either but the way this country is heading my wife and I decided it was time.  At the end of the day I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure my family is safe.  I also work nights and my wife feels safer knowing she has a pistol within arms reach of our bed.

Laws wise I’m sure there’s someone on here that knows 10x more than I do on what’s legal and not.

Ive thought about giving mine up. With all the back and forth laws i dont feel comfortable to even carry it these days.  and yes i know guys that some of it was thrown out, then a stay on that, then ruled this way, then that.... Dont need the headache.  The county I'm in would only issue permits to carry for "Hunting, Fishing , target and Hiking" then they stated anyone that has a permit can carry unrestricted after the supreme court ruling this summer.  But my permit doesnt say that and you couldnt get in to get it changed. Then Hochuls new law where you cant carry a pistol basically anywhere in Ny, then all the overturns and then stays on the overturns.  Its far more of a pain in the ass than its worth it. I know some guys will say "thats what they want you to do"  yeah i get it - but to me its to the point its not worth the hassle.  Ive made it 51 years without needing it and what i dont need is a court battle over that.  Just my 2 cents.

Still nice to be able to buy handguns and ammunition. Why limit yourself? Dont have to carry, great home defense guns as well. can add weapon lights and easy to maneuver.
