Within 17 days I had 400 pictures. In a low density (deer) area, this licking branch has worked great. I tilled and planted rye around it yesterday. Interested to see the scrape progression as the season goes on.

Only a few small bucks so far, the hope is when patterns change they stop on by.

Jeremy what did you use for your branch?

I was worried about using a vine that isn't native to the area but they definitely work.

I didn't use anything ,for some reason he picked one way up in the air like that. I did experiment with a horizontal post one year and put orbital gel on it and had one spike sniff it and that was it.

Yup, we carry an endless supply of one of the best attractants out there.  And it's free.

One study found that deer are attracted to human urine more than they are to doe in estrous urine.

only problem is I cant pee that high anymore.......:P

Find some NAtural "no chemical added" 1/2" or bigger hemp rope, the site alone will bring in everything that can reach it..  scratch the dirt under it and use your own piss underneath it.

Bear will ruin it if they come across it typically.. I have video of bears playing with them then ripping them down and running away with it.. pretty neat. Along with many many bucks and does and fawns using it

One time I tied a grape vine to a large larch branch in May, I think. Returned in August and the grape vine was like 12' up! I guess larch branches must droop then elevate as the seasons change?? Had to use a pole saw to get it off.

I just use a thick stick.  First year tied with a natural string/rope, it lasted a season. After that I started using  thick zip ties and they've lasted years.
