Cabin Fever
First year this tree has produced apples. Any insight as to what's wrong with these honey crisp apples? They're all like this. I didn't spray or anything, so that might the problem?
cervidchasers
If you dont spray, Sooty blotch and flyspeck usually appear in August or September and are sometimes called the "summer diseases” of apples. Sooty blotch causes dark smudges on the surface of the apple. Both fungi are limited to the surface of the fruit and do not cause rot. Fruit Tree Spray from Bonide is a good all around spray for year round use. You do need to spray when trees are dormant too, not just in summer.
